How to repurpose your content (and why you should be!)

How to repurpose your content (and why you should be!)

Content marketing is often the backbone of a brand’s marketing strategy. It has so many benefits including boosting your SEO, providing others with a sense of your knowledge and skills, and allowing you to fuel the rest of your inbound marketing efforts.

This makes your life so much easier when it comes to your marketing while keeping everything consistent AF.

When I think of content marketing, I usually think of blogging as the foundation of it. This is typically longer form content which allows you to repurpose it all much more easily.

So let’s start with your blog posts… Write these often and consistently (the more you write and optimize the better for your SEO!) but figure out what works best for your schedule so you can stay consistent. Maybe that’s once a week, twice a month, or once a month… find what works for you!

Pro tip: If you’re just starting out, blog more often to boost your SEO and as you grow, you can pull back on how often you’re posting.

Content Distribution Channels

Once you have your blog post done, you can then use it to fuel the rest of your content marketing efforts.

  • Pin your blog to Pinterest (create numerous graphics for the same post so you can pin several times)

  • Create a Youtube video sharing the same content in your blog post in video format (you can also add this to your blog post so if people prefer watching instead of reading, they can consume the content that way)

  • Send a newsletter to your email list with a roundup of your most recent blog posts and/or just featuring one in particular

  • Record a podcast episode on the same topic and content shared in the blog (again, you can embed the episode so people can listen rather than read if they prefer)

  • If your blog has various points in it, you can create social media posts for each point made (if you have 5 tips, you then have 5 different social media posts!) or you can create a carousel style post for Instagram using the different posts (you can also do this with Reels!)

  • Conversely if you have a social media post perform really well, you can elaborate on it further to create a whole blog post and follow this cycle that way too

  • And so on!

Other than keeping all of this organized, make sure you keep an eye on your analytics so you know your most popular content and the keywords others are using to find you. This can help spark ideas for new blog posts and it can also allow you to then write a pitch for local or national press since you know it’s a topic people love. Again, your content can help fuel the rest of your marketing!
